It’s over for this year: Europe’s biggest urban mountainbike freeride event and the last stop of this year’s Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour. The event leaves behind a mark in the city center of Nuremberg. 60.000 visitors and a blazing sunshine watched Sam Pilgrim show off his skills, who proved to be the most all-round of all riders by collecting most points in the different districts. First held in 2005 in Nuremberg and one year later prosecuted in Nuremberg and Catania, the Red Bull District Ride was the freeride highlight of that year. We’ve been to both editions in Nuremberg. The Red Bull District Ride is a combination of slopestyle, freeride and downhill which takes place through the streets of the city. The course is divided into several “districts” each with its own theme. So the start in Nuremberg was from the city wall with a 9 meter high drop!
